The Best Himalayan Salt Products for Restaurants

Not Every Salt Product Belongs in a Professional Kitchen
Himalayan salt shows up in dozens of consumer product formats, but only a handful genuinely earn space in a working restaurant kitchen or dining room. Here is the shortlist we would recommend to a chef or restaurant group evaluating the category for the first time.
1. Cooking & Serving Slabs
The single most versatile item: searing hot, chilled for raw presentation, or used as a curing surface. A 2×8×12 slab (AGST-115) is the standard kitchen size; round serving slabs work better for tableside presentation.
2. Coarse Finishing Salt
Coarse 2–5 mm pink salt, crushed by hand over a finished plate, gives texture and visual contrast that pre-ground table salt cannot. It belongs in a grinder or small ramekin at the pass, not mixed into the pepper station.
3. Bulk Cooking Salt
For back-of-house seasoning, brining, and general use, bulk granular or coarse salt in 25 kg bags is the practical, cost-effective choice — reserve the specialty formats for front-of-house moments.
4. Salt Tableware for Presentation
Salad plates and small salt-carved serving pieces are a lower-priority but genuinely distinctive option for a restaurant building a visual identity around natural materials — not essential, but a differentiator for the right concept.
What We Would Skip
Decorative salt lamps belong in a dining room’s ambiance program, not the kitchen — they are a front-of-house décor decision, not a culinary one, and worth evaluating separately from your kitchen salt program.
