Himalayan Salt Wholesale Payment Terms & Shipping Incoterms

How we structure payment — advance, balance on bill of lading, or letter of credit — and what FOB, CIF, FCL and LCL actually mean for your Himalayan salt order.

How Payment Works

Most first-time buyers pay a deposit — typically 30–50% — against a confirmed order, with the balance due before or against shipping documents once the container is loaded and the bill of lading is issued. Established distributors with a recurring order history can move to more flexible terms over time. For larger orders, we also work with letters of credit (L/C) issued through your bank, which protects both sides on a first transaction.

FOB, CIF, FCL and LCL — What They Mean for You

  • FOB (Free on Board) Karachi — we handle everything up to loading the container onto the vessel; you arrange and pay ocean freight from there
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) — we arrange and include ocean freight and insurance to your named port, quoted as one landed price
  • FCL (Full Container Load) — you book an entire 20ft or 40ft container for your order alone
  • LCL (Less than Container Load) — your order shares container space with other shipments, useful for smaller first orders

Which Terms Suit a First-Time Buyer

First-time buyers typically start with CIF pricing (so there is no freight-forwarder of their own to arrange) and either a deposit/balance split or a letter of credit, often as LCL if order volume doesn't fill a full container. We will recommend the right combination once we know your order size and experience level.

Frequently Asked

What deposit do you require on a first order?

Typically 30–50% in advance, with the balance due before or against shipping documents once the container is loaded.

Do you accept letters of credit?

Yes — L/Cs issued through your bank are accepted, particularly useful for larger first-time orders where both sides want payment security.

What is the difference between FOB and CIF pricing?

FOB covers cost up to loading the container at Karachi, with you arranging ocean freight; CIF includes freight and insurance to your named port as one landed price.
